PENSKE SHOCK ABSORBERS





Two (2) Series 8100 shocks are following dimensions (see Penske catalog for reference):
 

  •     "A"    =    17.5"        (fully extended length between mounting hole centers - standard size)
  •     "B"    =    4.6"          (approximate stoke length, these shocks are non-standard)
  •     "C"    =    1.84"         (standard body cap length plus 0.500")
  •     "D"    =    9.40"        (longer body length than standard 17.5" length shock)
  •     "E"    =    1.60"         (standard eyelet length)
  •     "F"    =    7.0"          (reservoir body length
  •     "G"    =    23.0          (hose length)

    Four (4) Series 8100 shocks are:
     

  •     "A"    =    16.0"        (standard size)
  •     "B"    =    5.20"        (standard size)
  •     "C"    =    1.84"        (standard body cap length plus 0.500)
  •     "D"    =    7.275"     (standard size)
  •     "E"    =    1.60"        (standard size)
  •     "F"    =    5.5", 7.0"  (two of each length)
  •     "G"    =    ??             (similar to lengths on longer shocks)

    Also available:
     

  • 8 empty remote canisters.  They are the 7.0: variety and include adjustment valve end but neither pistons or the other

    •      end.  Insides appear to be in excellent shape, a couple appear to be new.
  • 7 pistons with wrap (each with most, but not all washers)

    Shocks acquired from 1990's Nissan GTU factory program.  Originally there were 8 shocks but we used two of the on our GTU car.  Remaining 6 unites were never used by us.  They are all in very good condition and were rebuilt just prior to our buying them.  Current valving inside the shocks is unknown and spring seats are not included.

    New 8100 Series Double adjustable shocks listed for $770 each in 2005.  Everything listed above can be bought for $2000 plus freight.  Call for costs on separate items if you are not interested in entire package.
